San Martin de Los Andes – Hotel Intermonti

The short video below provides a great overview of the town and area. It was developed by the tourism board of San Martin de Los Andes. However, Harry reported that he did not see one woman walking around in a teeny-tiny bikini.

This was a last minute booking in our backpacking trip through Patagonia. Rooms are very dated, however they were clean. Soap was supplied. Breakfast was in traditional Argentine style consisting of cereal, yogurt, breads, cheese and ham. The views of the tree lined mountains were lovely from the room. The hotel is an easy walk from the bus terminal. Considering San Martín de Los Andes is off the traditional backpacker route, it was difficult to find budget savvy accommodations (not many hostels or rent-able apartments). We paid $82 USD per night for this average stay.

REVIEW
We both agree that we did the best we could on such short notice. Overall, the stay was run-of-the-mill. The area is known to be expensive (as almost all nice places are). We wouldn’t necessarily recommend staying here. Do some research on the area and you’ll find better value elsewhere. Otherwise, if you do end up at Hotel Intermonti at least you’ll get a clean and comfortable bed with a decent breakfast for less than $100 per night.
